Event overview
The Thames Bridges Trek is a supported walking event in London on Sat 12 Sept 2026. The event offers two distances:
- 25 km - from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge, crossing 16 bridges
- 10 km - Thames 10K option with a start at The Oval Cricket Ground
The event typically attracts about 2,500 walkers. The finish is in Southwark Park. Participants receive a medal, a finisher’s T-shirt, a glass of fizz and a picnic at the finish.
Route and support
The 25 km route follows the River Thames and is described as flat. There is a midpoint rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground with pastries, fruit, snacks and hot drinks. Rest stops are provided roughly every 12.5 km and include covered seating, toilets, medical teams, baggage pick up and catering. The route is waymarked with pink arrows and distance markers, and there is GPS tracking and chip timing for monitoring progress. Medical staff, podiatrists and massage teams are available at rest stops and along the route. The event is walking/trekking only; running or jogging is not permitted.
Entry and fundraising
Multiple entry options are available: self-funded places or charity-funded places with different registration fees and fundraising targets. Example charity options for the 25 km distance include a full sponsorship option with a registration fee and a minimum fundraising target. Team entries are supported and there are concessions for young persons. Public transport links are noted for start and finish locations; there is no official event parking.
