Thames Bridges Trek : London walk along the Thames
The Thames Bridges Trek is a walk-only event along the River Thames in London offering two supported distances. The longer route follows the river from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge and finishes in Southwark Park. The course crosses 16 historic bridges and is described as flat as it follows the Thames.
Key on-route support includes covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km, snack and meal provision, hot drinks and water, medical teams and podiatrists, toilets, changing areas and baggage collection. The midpoint stop is at The Oval Cricket Ground where participants can access pastries, fruit, snacks and hot drinks. The route is fully signed with distance markers and an app with GPS tracking for live location updates.
Event finish provisions include a picnic lunch, a finisher medal, a T shirt and a glass of fizz. Organiser information notes an expected field of about 2500 walkers and options for corporate team entries. Transport information states there is no official parking at event locations and that public transport links are good; nearest Tube stations listed include Putney Bridge for the 25 km start, Oval or Vauxhall for the 10 km start, and Bermondsey, Canada Water or Surrey Quays near the finish.
