Event overview
The Thames Bridges Trek takes place in London on Sat 12 Sept 2026. The route follows the River Thames east from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge and crosses 16 bridges over a flat course. Two distance options are offered:
- 25 km - Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge, crosses 16 bridges
- 10 km - Thames 10K option, starts at The Oval Cricket Ground
The event is walking/trekking only; running or jogging is not permitted. The 25 km route includes a mid-point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground with snacks and drinks. The finish is in Southwark Park, where finishers receive a medal, t-shirt, glass of fizz and a picnic.
Facilities and logistics
The route is fully signed and supported with pink arrows, distance markers, hazard signs, chip timing and GPS tracking. Rest stops are provided approximately every 12.5 km, with covered seating, toilets, medical teams, podiatrists and massage services at major stops. Organiser staff (Trek Masters) patrol the route and support participants; a control room monitors timing.
There is no official parking at start or finish. Nearest Tube stations listed are Putney Bridge for the 25 km start, Oval or Vauxhall for the 10 km start, and Bermondsey, Canada Water or Surrey Quays for the finish. Registration options include self-funded and several charity funding packages; published entry fees are shown for 2026 (for example, self-fund: 25 km £89, 10 km £49).
