About the race
The Ultra Caballo Blanco Copper Canyon Ultra is a multi-distance running event held in Urique, Mexico and organized by Sierra Tarahumara Adventures and True Messages. The event includes race distances that traverse the Sierra Tarahumara and incorporates cultural activities in the town of Urique and nearby Cerocahui.
All event registrations include access to the weekend of cultural stage events, activities and gatherings in the main plaza. Organizers offer optional all-inclusive travel and accommodation packages and support for transportation to and from the Sierra Tarahumara; package details and availability vary and are listed separately.
Distances offered at the event include:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile / 80K
- Marathon (42K)
- Half Marathon (21K) There is also a separate kids race on Friday featuring approximately 800 young athletes running short courses around the town.
The event notes logistical challenges for reaching the site and securing lodging, and states that race entries can be deferred to the following year if requested before January 30. If organizers cancel the race for health, safety, or other unforeseen reasons, registrations will be applied to the rescheduled event.
