Ulnooweg Summer Solstice Run 2026
The Ulnooweg Summer Solstice Run is an annual event on June 20, 2026 in Millbrook, Nova Scotia, held in celebration of the Summer Solstice and National Indigenous Peoples Day. The event promotes healthy lifestyles and community healing and highlights cultural elements from the local community.
Distances offered:
- 10K run
- 5K run/walk
- 2K run/walk
The day includes an opening ceremony, cultural presentations, and an awards ceremony after the races. A post-run breakfast social brings participants and volunteers together. The 5K is part of the Run Nova Scotia Performance Series, and both the 5K and 10K are included in the Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series, placing them on the provincial running calendar.
The event supports virtual participation to allow broader community involvement. Ulnooweg commissions an Indigenous artist each year to design the run medals, a paid opportunity for illustrators. Volunteer roles are available and an organizer-maintained signup form is used to coordinate helpers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
