Two Hollows Monster Marathon and Half Marathon
The event takes place on maintained trails in the western section of Kennedy State Forest between Virgil and Harford, NY, running between Daisy Hollow and Babcock Hollow. The route uses long, rolling single track with some twists and turns, several challenging hills, and a notable climb in the final two miles of each 13.1-mile loop. Runners pass through shady hemlock groves and fern-carpeted hardwood forest and encounter a few long views.
Detailed course maps are provided by the organizer. The marathon accumulates about 4,400 feet of elevation gain and the half marathon about 2,200 feet.
The event features age- and gender-based staggered start times and includes a nonbinary category. Head starts are determined using the World Masters Athletics age-graded tables. The race footprint is compact; staggered starts, generous cutoffs, and aid stations every 3 to 4 miles are part of the format. This is a cupless event, so all participants must carry a personal hydration system for the duration of the race.
