Two Hollows Monster Marathon and Half Marathon
The event takes place on trails in the western section of Kennedy State Forest between Virgil and Harford, NY, on terrain between Daisy Hollow and Babcock Hollow. The course uses well maintained single track with long rolling sections, twists, and several hills, including a notable climb in the last two miles of each 13.1-mile loop. Runners pass through hemlock groves and fern-carpeted hardwood forest and encounter a few long views.
Distances:
- Marathon - about 4,400 feet of elevation gain
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - about 2,200 feet of elevation gain
The event uses age- and gender-based staggered start times with a nonbinary category. Start order and individual head starts are determined using the World Masters Athletics Age-Graded Tables; men under age 38 start with the race clock while older and non-male participants receive earlier starts. The course footprint is compact, with staggered starts, generous cutoffs, and aid stations placed approximately every 3 to 4 miles.
This is a cupless event. There will not be disposable cups at aid stations, so all participants must carry a personal hydration system. Essential parking information and directions are provided by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
