Annual Turkey Triathlon
The 22nd Annual Turkey Triathlon and 5K Trot, organized by Weber State Campus Recreation, is a reverse sprint triathlon held on the Weber State Campus in Ogden, Utah. The course circles the campus and offers views of the Wasatch Front. Entry includes a race shirt and a medal, and there is a post-race raffle and awards presentation.
The event distances are:
- 300 yd swim
- 10 km bike
- 5 km run
The swim takes place in pool lanes set for one-way loops; participants swim up one lane and down the next and complete two loops before exiting at the stairs. The run is one loop and the bike course is two loops. Participants must follow traffic laws on campus and stop for traffic lights for the OGX bus line. A helmet is required for the bike portion. The start line and transition area are at Swenson Gym, Parking Lot A7.
Logistics include early packet pickup on November 5 and 6 at the Campus Recreation offices, and race-day packet pickup in the transition area; bibs determine numbered bike rack placement. The event may move indoors in case of inclement weather. The race also includes a Weber Cares Pantry drive; donated items earn extra raffle tickets.
Awards and raffle take place in Swenson Gym. Perishable awards require recipient presence. Award categories include overall and age-group honors for both the triathlon and the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
