True Grit Blackwood River, Linga Longa Estate : October 17 and 18, 2026
The event is a two-day, military-inspired obstacle run set on the Blackwood River landscape at Linga Longa Estate. The course uses natural terrain and includes mud, carries, climbs and constructed obstacles arranged across off-road trails. Spectators attend free and parking is available for a fee per vehicle.
Distances offered:
- 10km Elite - Timed, competitive category with podium prizes, 16+ years
- 10km - Classic True Grit course, 16+ years
- 5km - Shorter course with 15+ obstacles, 12+ years
The 10km course includes 30+ obstacles; the 5km course includes 15+ obstacles. Elite competitors attempt the harder obstacle variations and face a burpee penalty for failed obstacles. Finishers receive a t-shirt and electrolyte drink; an optional finisher beer and on-course water and medical support are provided. Team entries are supported, with larger teams eligible for group deals, and solo participants can join special waves designed to provide encouragement and company. Camping options are offered on site with toilet and shower facilities; there are no communal cooking facilities but food will be available for purchase. Minors must have a guardian-signed waiver.
