True Grit Blackwood River
True Grit at Linga Longa Estate on the Blackwood River is a military inspired obstacle course event held on October 17 and 18, 2026. The event uses natural terrain and offers two main course lengths plus an elite race. Distances are approximate and may vary by one to two kilometres due to site conditions.
Participants can choose from these distances:
- 10km Elite - Timed and competitive; podium prizes; 16+ years
- 10km - Classic True Grit course; 16+ years
- 5km - Shorter course with 15+ obstacles; 12+ years
The 10km course includes 30+ obstacles. Obstacles designed for this location include A Frame, Monkey Bars, Rope Up, Pontoon Bridges, Sandbag Carry, Tyre Wall, Cargo and The Big Climb. Elite entrants must attempt every obstacle and incur a penalty of 20 burpees for each failed or skipped obstacle; elite finish times are recorded for placement.
On-site offerings include camping with assigned and general unpowered areas, toilets and showers, available food vendors, a finisher T-shirt and postfinish refreshments including a Staminade drink and an optional finisher beer. Spectators are free. Parking is available for a fee and there are special areas for mini-buses and coaches.
