Freedom Run Presented by UnityPoint Health
The Freedom Run Presented by UnityPoint Health is a military themed community running event in East Moline, Illinois. The event includes multiple race options and family activities, and its proceeds have benefited the Trinity Veteran's Outreach Program, the AUSA, and USO Rock Island programs and services for military and military families in the Quad Cities.
The event features visible military elements along the course, including an authentic Civil War cannon used to start the race, a WWII Army jeep as a pace vehicle, various military vehicles, more than 100 American flags along the route, military themed T shirts for participants, soldier statue trophies, and dog-tag style medals placed by soldiers at the finish.
Course and race notes:
- 5K Run/Walk with one hill made of two gradual inclines and a long downhill before the finish; route passes St Anne Church, Hillcrest School, Mitchell Park neighborhoods, Ridgewood School, then back downtown.
