Freedom Run Presented by UnityPoint Health
The Freedom Run is a community event in East Moline, Illinois, held on August 13, 2026, at 733 15th Avenue. The event is organized with a strong military theme and features period and modern military vehicles, flag-lined course sections, themed t-shirts, dog-tag medals, and soldier statue trophies.
Multiple race options are offered:
- 5K Run/Walk - route through neighborhoods with one hill and a long downhill
- Tyson Double-Time Loop (5.8 miles) - same route as 5K with two loops
- 1 Mile Run/Walk - extremely flat out-and-back on 15th Avenue
- IHMVCU Brigade Kids Races
- Ground Pounder Fun Run - kid friendly obstacle course, not timed
- M.I.A Division - support option with mailed packet if registered by July 15
Event materials and policies include a guaranteed t-shirt and size for registrations received by July 15, and a no refunds or transfers policy for all registrations. The Tyson Double-Time Loop requires participants to reach the 3-mile marker within a set time or be directed to finish the 5K course.
Proceeds have benefited local military and family programs, including the Trinity Veteran's Outreach Program, AUSA, and USO Rock Island.
