Trieste Spring Run
The Trieste Spring Run is a multi-day sporting and cultural event held in Trieste, Italy. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Bavisela, the event features the return of the only marathon in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The courses take participants through a variety of landscapes, including the Carso plateau, coastal roads, and the historic city center.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 42 km: A marathon route that runs between the cliffs and the sea, concluding in Piazza Unità.
- 21 km: A scenic half marathon starting from the center of Sistiana and finishing by the sea.
- 10 km: The Muggia 10k, an international-level athletics race.
- 7 km: The Bavisela Family Run, a non-competitive event open to all ages, including walkers and children on skates (up to age 10).
- Young Run: A dedicated race for children held in Piazza Unità d'Italia.
The 7 km Family Run starts at the Bivio di Miramare and finishes at Piazza Unità d'Italia. For this distance, a shuttle service is available from the Central Station to the start area. The event includes an Expo Village located in Piazza Unità d'Italia for race packet collection. This event also serves as a charity fundraiser for the Burlo Garofolo Pediatric Hospital.
