Tri-Quest Bike Paddle Run at Muriel Lake
Tri-Quest is a multisport event taking place on May 30, 2026 at Muriel Lake M.D. Park in Bonnyville. The race combines biking, paddling and running into three consecutive segments. Participants may enter solo or as part of a team.
The distances are:
- 9 km bike
- 3 km paddle
- 4.5 km run
Teams consist of 3 or 4 people: one biker, one or two paddlers, and one runner. Categories include Adult Solo (18+), Youth Solo (12–17), Adult Team, and Youth Team (12–17). Mixed youth/adult teams are classified as Adult Teams.
Key rules and procedures: wearing an approved bike helmet is mandatory; e bikes are not permitted; watercraft must be canoe, kayak, or paddle board and propelled only by paddles; wearing a personal flotation device on the water is mandatory. The bike route includes paved sections, gravel and uneven narrow cross country trails with loose gravel, dirt, rocks and grass. The main campground road remains open to traffic. A safety boat will patrol the water and a water station is available on the run. Race packets include a bib and two number stickers for bike and watercraft identification; only racers with matching bib numbers may retrieve equipment from corrals. A signed paper waiver is required during packet pickup. Registering by May 1 guarantees a T shirt.
Post race activities include an awards presentation, an onsite BBQ for a fee and a free concert featuring local musical talent.
