TRI Clear Lake : Clear Lake, Iowa
TRI Clear Lake is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event taking place in Clear Lake, Iowa on August 29, 2026. The race starts and finishes lakefront in downtown Clear Lake with the swim beginning at City Beach. The bike course is described as flat and fast with one or two loops guiding athletes along South Shore Drive. The run follows North Shore Drive along Clear Lake, passes the Surf Ballroom, and returns to a lakeside finish in City Park. There are aid stations located at mile 1 and mile 2 on the run.
Race distances
- Olympic: 1,500 meter swim, 24.8 mile bike, 6.2 mile run
- Sprint: 500 meter swim, 12.4 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Relay: teams of 2 to 3 participants
Youth Splash and Dash distances
- Juniors 7–10: 100 meter swim and 1 kilometer run
- Seniors 11–15: 200 meter swim and 2 kilometer run
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race and same-day pickup is available at the Clear Lake Chamber Welcome Center. Participants must be USAT annual members or purchase a one-day permit; the one-day permit fee is $15 and USAT members must present their membership card and photo ID at packet pickup. Awards are given to top overall male and female finishers and to top finishers in each category. Volunteer opportunities are available the day before and the day of the event.
