Inaugural Treherne Pinker-TEN Trail Race
The Inaugural Treherne Pinker-TEN Trail Race is a running event located in Treherne, Manitoba. The event features technical trail races that traverse quiet country roads and forest paths. Participants utilize a shuttle service from the Treherne Ag Grounds, which serves as the race central and finish line, to reach the starting point at the Pinkerton School cairn.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 10 km: This route follows maintained gravel for the first mile before transitioning to meandering turkey trails and single-track trail within the Boyne Trail system.
- 16 km (10 miles): This distance heads south to the Pinkerton Lake lookout and includes a grass trail loop through the Pinkerton Lakes Wildlife Refuge before joining the 10 km route.
The geography of the course includes rolling hills that provide elevation changes as the paths descend back toward the town. The terrain varies from parkland forest and grass trails to technical single-track sections.
