Race Overview
The Traverse Mountain Half Marathon is a late fall race along the Wasatch Front in Utah. It starts and finishes at Mitchell Hollow Park in Highland, Utah.
Course Details
The course is a 13.1-mile run on pavement. It utilizes the Murdock Canal Trail and the Utah Rail Trail, which do not require runners to cross roads or share space with vehicles. The route offers views of Lone Peak, Box Elder, and Timpanogos mountains, and crosses a large pedestrian bridge. It passes Shadow Ridge Park at the halfway point before returning.
Registration and Fees
Registration is handled online. The fee structure is:
- Early registration: $60 (ends May 7)
- Normal registration: $70
- Late registration: $80 (begins October 7)
Registration closes the Friday night before the race. Same-day registration is not available. A $5 discount code (HAPPY) is available for participants doing multiple events from the organizer.
Schedule and Packet Pickup
The race is scheduled for November 7. The half marathon starts at 8:00 AM. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at a running store in Sandy, Utah, and on race day at the starting line beginning at 6:30 AM.
What's Included
Registered runners receive a race shirt, a locally made finisher's medal, and access to free race photos. A post-race breakfast is provided, featuring items from Great Harvest Bread, chocolate milk, orange juice, and bananas.
Awards
Overall male and female winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place receive a custom plaque. Age division medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups. The first-place overall winners also receive a gift card.
Amenities and Support
Aid stations along the course provide Gatorade, water, Honey Stinger products, fruit, and candy. Post-race, a sports therapy provider offers services. Free parking is available at the Mitchell Hollow Trailhead and a nearby church. Volunteers receive a $70 credit for a future race.
