About the race
Traverse Mountain Half Marathon is a late fall half marathon held along the Wasatch Front near Highland City, Utah. The course runs on paved multiuse trails and highlights views of Lone Peak, Box Elder, and Mount Timpanogos as it follows portions of the Murdock Canal Trail and the Utah Rail Trail. The route stays on established trail surfaces and does not require crossing roads or sharing the right of way with vehicles. The event starts and finishes at Mitchell Hollow Park, 6450 W 10400 N, Highland, UT 84003.
Packet pickup is available at the Salt Lake Running Company in Sandy and at the starting line on race day. Free parking is offered at the Mitchell Hollow Trailhead, which has about 50 spaces, with additional parking available at a nearby church at 6722 W 10400 N St, Highland. Participants receive a well marked course, a locally made finisher medal and age medals, a race shirt, free race photos provided by a course photographer, and live results. Post race food includes offerings from Great Harvest Bread such as cinnamon rolls and seasonal breads plus chocolate milk, orange juice, and bananas.
Aid stations are stocked with Gatorade, water, energy gels and waffles, fruit, and assorted snacks. Overall male and female winners receive locally made plaques and additional prizes, and age division medals are awarded for top finishers in standard age groups.
