Event overview
The Traverse Mountain Half Marathon is scheduled for November 7, 2026 and is a 13.1-mile race that starts and finishes at Mitchell Hollow Park, 6450 W 10400 N, Highland, UT 84003. The course is fully paved and uses the Murdock Canal Trail and the Utah Rail Trail. Total elevation gain is +506 ft. The event is capped at 300 runners and there is no cutoff time.
Course and aid stations
Runners follow the Murdock Canal Trail, cross a pedestrian bridge over Timpanogos Highway, and continue on the Utah Rail Trail to a turnaround at Shadow Ridge Park. Segment details include the first aid station at about 2 miles and additional aid stations spaced roughly every 2 to 2.55 miles; several stations list restroom access. Aid stations provide Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and small snacks such as candy.
Logistics, swag and awards
Packet pickup is available at Salt Lake Running Company in Sandy. Participants receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher medal; age-group medals are awarded for top three in each listed division (>20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Overall male and female awards are given for first through third place. Free race photos will be taken on course and at the finish. Post-race food includes items from Great Harvest Bread. Free parking is available near the park with limited onsite spaces; additional street parking is nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
