Trans Augrabies Stage Race
The Trans Augrabies Stage Race is a two day multi-discipline event held in and around Augrabies Falls National Park in the Northern Cape. The event offers mountain bike, gravel bike and trail run formats that use the park and surrounding Green Kalahari landscape, including river valley and rocky scenery.
Racing is organised as two stages that traverse varied terrain and notable local features. A handicap timekeeping system is used for the MTB race to adjust actual times by a percentage based on age and gender, producing a handicap time for overall handicap classification. E-bikes are permitted to enter but are not eligible for podium prizes.
The race village and stage starts and finishes are located inside Augrabies Falls National Park close to park chalets. Accommodation is typically booked through SANParks. The event includes optional add-ons such as meal packages, sports massages, bike service packages and event apparel. A charity auction is held during the event with proceeds supporting Red ’n Plaas and the Honorary Rangers.
