About the race
Trails & Tarmac 12hr Backyard Ultra takes place in Crickhowell, Powys, near the Black Mountains. The race uses a 4.2-mile loop run 50/50 on trail and tarmac, with one gradual climb and a short steep section to keep the pace fast. The format runs up to 12 hours: the first 11 laps must be completed within an hour to count, and the 12th lap is a race to determine the winner.
Prizes include trophies for 1st–3rd, and everyone finishing a yard earns a medal, with a special medal for reaching 32 miles (ULTRA). On-site features include medics, showers, toilets, hot and cold food, and photographers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
