Trails and Tails - Coopernook
Trails and Tails - Coopernook is a community trail run and walk held at Coopernook Forest HQ in Coopernook State Forest. The event offers several course distances and allows solo runners or participants to run with a dog. Group entries such as families or friends may also run together with or without dogs.
Available distances:
- 21.1 km
- 14 km
- 7 km (14+ and under 14 with adult supervision)
- 4 km (14+ and 4–13 with adult supervision)
Entry periods and typical fees are listed in three windows: Early Bird (1 September to 31 January), Standard (1 February to 20 August), and Late (20 August to 23 August), with different fees by distance and age category for each period. Age minimums apply: 21.1 km is 18+, 14 km is 16+, 7 km is 14+, and 4 km covers ages 4–13 (younger participants require adult supervision and the adult must hold an entry).
Race check-in and mandatory gear checks occur on race morning; gear must be checked at the event before bibs are issued. Personal bag storage is available at the race hub; uncollected items will not be posted and should be retrieved before 1pm Sunday. Finishers receive a medal for each distance. Free electric barbecues are available nearby and caravans and campervans are welcome though Coopernook HQ is unpowered and does not offer a dump station.
