Trail Run Wine Weekend : Mount Avoca Winery
Trail Run Wine Weekend takes place at Mount Avoca Winery over the weekend of 13–15 November. The program combines trail running, on-site camping and winery facilities across multiple course options that pass through vineyards, forest ridgelines and gravel tracks.
The event features a range of distances:
- 42 km Shiraz marathon course
- 27 km Merlot trail run
- 10 km Sauvignon Blanc scenic run
- 5 km Chardonnay run
- 2.5 km Verjuice family kids run
- 1.6 km Saturday night Wine Mile Time Trial
- 21 km Cab Sav laps relay (7 km x 3) for teams or solo
- 5 km Semillon recovery run
Race villages and festival elements run across Friday and Saturday nights, with on-site camping available for a weekend stay. Accommodation options also include Eco-Luxe Lodges and on-site glamping; lodge stays include breakfast and a complimentary bottle of Mount Avoca wine. Camping facilities list toilets, hot showers and a communal campfire. Dogs are allowed in event and camping areas but must be kept on a lead and remain within designated areas because neighbouring properties have sheep.
On-course features include a cheese and wine aid station on Saturday routes and engraved wine glasses presented to finishers of the longer distances, which can be filled at the Mount Avoca cellar door.
