About the race
Trail Run Wine Weekend at Mount Avoca Winery is a multi-day trail running festival held in the Pyrenees region. The event combines trail races, camping on the winery grounds, and on-site hospitality from the cellar door and food vendors. Camp sites include toilets, hot showers and a communal campfire; kids under five camp free and there is also an Eco-Luxe Lodge option with breakfast and a complimentary bottle of Mount Avoca wine.
Courses run through vineyard corridors, rolling hills, singletrack and adjoining State Forest ridgelines. Several race formats are offered across the weekend, including:
- 42 km trail marathon (Shiraz)
- 27 km trail run (Merlot)
- 10 km trail run (Sauvignon Blanc)
- 5 km trail run (Chardonnay / Semillon)
- 2.5 km family kids run (Verjuice)
- 1.6 km night Wine Mile Time Trial
- 21 km relay (three laps of 7 km, teams or solo)
On-course features include a Cheese and Wine aid station on Saturday routes. Large-event amenities include an event village with food trucks, live acoustic music, a ute bar and a wine cellar door offering wines produced and bottled on the Mount Avoca estate.
