Trail Run Australia Tathra : Tathra MultiSport Festival, Sapphire Coast
Trail Run Australia Tathra is a weekend of off‑road races based at Tathra on the Sapphire Coast. The event forms part of the Tathra MultiSport Festival on 13–14 March 2027 and includes a mix of coastal and inland courses that finish at the Tathra Beach foreshore near the historic Tathra Wharf.
Distances on offer:
- 30 km TRA30 from Merimbula to Tathra
- 18 km TRA18 from Hobart Beach area to Tathra
- 7 km TRA7 lap from Kangarutha Farm returning to Tathra
- 2.5 km TRA2.5 Family Beach Run starting at Race HQ
Courses run on single‑track trails, beaches and short tarmac sections and pass through coastal forests, cliffs, secluded beaches and estuaries. Aid stations are placed on course and the event is cupless, so athletes must carry a personal cup or bottles for refills. Compulsory equipment checks are required at registration and at the start line; missing compulsory items can prevent a start or incur penalties. Specific hydration requirements vary by distance (for example TRA30 requires 2 litres at the start, TRA18 1 litre, TRA7 500 ml and TRA2.5 water requirements may be weather dependent).
Race HQ is at Tathra Surf Life Saving Club where facilities include a cafe, bar and public amenities and street parking is available nearby. First aid and medical personnel are located at Race HQ and at staffed checkpoints; some course sections are remote and assistance may take longer to arrive.
