Trail Mix
Trail Mix is a day of off road multisport events at the Atwood Park Trail System in Rockford, IL, held on the same day as mountain bike races. All runs and rides use the park trail network and the courses and transition areas will be thoroughly marked. A mountain bike is strongly recommended for all bike portions. Professional chip timing and a post-race meal are provided for all events.
Event distances include:
- Trail Mix duathlon: 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run (individual or team)
- Team Relay: 14 miles, team of 2 with runner and biker, runners age 10 and up with parent permission
- Competitive Mountain Bike: 20 miles, four laps of the Atwood loop, counter-clockwise
- Sport Mountain Bike: 10 miles, two laps of the Atwood loop, counter-clockwise
Entries include a custom Purist water bottle, a choice of meal from a food truck, and on site ice cream. The mountain bike course is available for pre riding and non race trails remain open all day. The event caps entries at 90 for the duathlon series and 125 for the mountain bike races. There is no race day registration. One hundred percent of proceeds will be donated to trail building and maintenance in the Rockford area. The event is co-hosted by Rock River Multisport and Rockford Area Mountain Biking Alliance.
