Events
The event offers two distances:
- 10K Race
- Half Marathon
The 10K is open to participants aged 9 and over. The Half Marathon is open to those aged 13 and over. The event is part of the Toledo Roadrunners Club Trail Race Series.
Course
Both races start at Providence Metropark near the dam in Grand Rapids, Ohio. The route follows the historic canal towpath along the Maumee River before returning to finish at the Providence dam and shelter.
The towpath surface is crushed gravel and dirt. The course is described as flat, open, and with good footing. It offers scenic river views and passes historic canal locks and a grain mill within the park. The route is shaded in many places.
Event Details
Registration for the event includes a tee shirt and a finisher medal. Participants can choose a "no shirt" option where a larger portion of the fee goes to charity.
The event is capped at 175 total participants. In the past, it sold out 10 weeks in advance. Members of the Toledo Roadrunners Club receive a $5 discount on registration.
Onsite medical support is provided by Mercy Health – Toledo. The event offers optional race insurance through a third-party provider. Proceeds benefit the organization SewHope.
Awards are given in the form of gift certificates to the overall, masters (age 40-49), and grand masters (age 50+) male and female winners in each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
