Towpath Trail 10K and Half Marathon
The Towpath Trail events take place at Providence Metropark near the dam across the river from Grand Rapids, OH (13827 S. River Rd.). Both courses use the historic canal towpath and return to the Dam Shelter at Providence Park. The trail surface is crushed gravel and dirt and offers shaded sections, river views, and passes historic canal locks and a grain mill.
Distances
- 10K out and back with 3.1 mile turnaround
- Half marathon (13.1 miles) out and back with 6.55 mile turnaround past Bend View Park
Registration opens 2026-01-11 and closes 2026-06-01 for both events. Listed registration fees are $36.00 for the 10K and $40.00 for the half marathon. Registration includes a tee shirt and a finisher medal; a no shirt option directs more of the fee to charity. The event is capped at 175 participants and is sold out for 2026; the 2025 event sold out 10 weeks in advance. Mercy Health - Toledo will provide onsite medical support.
Prize certificates will be awarded to male and female overall winners and to masters (age 40-49) and grand masters (age 50 and above) in both races. The race is part of the Toledo Roadrunners Club Trail Race Series in partnership with Metroparks Toledo. Race insurance is offered through a third party and claims are handled by that provider.
