About the race
The Totten Trot 5K Run/Walk is the 25th annual edition of a community road race held on October 25, 2026 at the Bayside Historical Society in Fort Totten, Bayside, NY. The event raises funds for the Bayside Historical Society to support its programs, archival collections, and maintenance of the landmarked Fort Totten Officers’ Club.
The course is USATF certified and follows a waterfront route through Fort Totten Park and the Historic District along Little Neck Bay. The loop includes a stretch onto Little Bay Path toward the Throgs Neck Bridge and returns to the landmarked Officers’ Club. Reception and awards take place at the historic “Castle.”

Prizes and amenities include cash awards for the top three overall men and women, age group awards, a best costume prize, raffle prizes, and commemorative Silver Anniversary T-shirts for entries received at least three weeks before race day. The event features a special guest appearance by the 501st Legion Empire City Garrison, a Star Wars costuming organization. Parking is available at the large lot near the entrance to the fort with a short walk to the Bayside Historical Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
