Totem to Totem Haida Marathon, half marathon and 10 km
This event is the annual Run Haida Gwaii race held as part of the Skidegate Days Celebrations and the Haida community series. The venue is the Haida Heritage Centre in Skidegate, British Columbia, with start and finish at the centre's totem poles.
Courses are out and back along shore roads, with views of the ocean and of eagles and ravens. The route is described as reasonably flat and each distance uses a marked turnaround point.
- Marathon: Out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to Saint Mary's Spring.
- Half marathon: Out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to Miller Creek Road and back.
- 10 km: Out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to just beyond the Balance Rock parking at the marked turnaround.
The Skidegate Council plans to raise three new totem poles in the village during the event week and on the day of the race after the last runner finishes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
