Totem to Totem Haida Marathon, half and 10k
This annual Run Haida Gwaii event takes place within the Skidegate Days Celebrations on July 18, 2026. It is part of a community series of Haida events.
Distances offered
- Marathon: out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to Saint Mary's Spring.
- Half marathon: out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to Miller Creek Road.
- 10 km: out and back from the Haida Heritage Centre to just beyond the Balance Rock parking.
The runs follow shore roads to marked turnaround points and pass views of the ocean along with eagles and ravens. The course is described as reasonably flat, with start and finish at the Totem Poles of the Haida Heritage Centre. The Skidegate Council plans to raise three new Totem Poles in the village during the week of the event and on the day of the event after the last runner finishes.
Registration requires a fee and includes early bird and regular pricing periods. The early bird window is listed from January 11 to May 29 and the regular pricing window from May 30 to July 15. Entry fees vary by distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
