Totem to Totem Marathon

Totem to Totem Haida Marathon, half and 10k

This is the annual Run Haida Gwaii event held within the Skidegate Days Celebrations. It is part of a Haida community series and takes place with the Haida Heritage Centre and its totem poles as the focal point for start and finish.

The races follow simple out and back courses along shore roads to their respective turnaround points. The route runs beside the ocean and passes areas where eagles and ravens can be seen. The course is described as reasonably flat, with start and finish at the Totem Poles of the Haida Heritage Centre.

During the week of the event the Skidegate Council plans to raise three new Totem Poles in the village, with installation activities planned on the day of the event after the last runner has finished.
