Longboat Toronto Island Run : September 13, 2026
The event takes place on Centre Island and features flat, scenic courses. Multiple distances are offered for families and youth:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 mile for ages 7–12
- 1 km fun run for ages 2–6
Participants receive a BBQ ticket included with their race bib for a choice of beef or veggie burger or a hot dog, plus cookies, fruit, and a drink. Additional BBQ tickets for spectators cost $12 + HST and are not sold on the Island on race day. Bibs serve as BBQ tickets. Bag check is available at the Centre Island pavilion; attach the detachable bib tag before drop-off.
Water stations are located at the 3 km and 7 km marks for the 10 km, and around 2 km and 5 km for the 5 km, with water also at the finish and BBQ areas. A 90 minute time limit applies to the 10 km; pacers are available for 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 minute target times. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted but asked to start from the back for safety.
Bib pickup is hosted by The Runners Shop at 374 Bloor St West on the days before the race. Pirate Taxi water taxi offers a discounted fare for registered participants. Weekly training runs are held Saturdays from July 18 through September 5 at Coronation Park, led by certified Longboat coaches. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
