Tomato Trot 5k
The Tomato Trot is in its 8th year and is a community run/walk held in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. The event benefits local organizations working in the Susquehanna Valley, including The Refuge, Young Life, and other local youth ministries that provide faith-based support and student relationships.
The race begins and ends in the parking lot of the Furmano Foods plant at 770 Cannery Road (GPS address: 815 Cannery Road). The 5K is chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing. The course is an out-and-back route through rolling countryside. Refreshments will be available for participants after the race.
Distances:
- 3.1 Miles Tomato Trot 5k Run / Walk
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run (not timed) - 1/4 to 1/2 mile options for children ages 10 and under
Registration information includes an entry fee of $30.00 for the 5K and no fee for the Kids Fun Run. Registration opens January 7, 2026 and closes May 6, 2026. Registrants by April 10, 2026 receive a free event t-shirt; additional shirts may be available for purchase at the event. Packet pick-up is available at Furmano Foods on Friday, May 8 and the morning of the event.
Awards include cash prizes for the top three overall finishers male and female, plus age-group awards listed for male and female divisions. Some children’s activities are scheduled during the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
