The Candy Cane Course is a holiday-themed athletic event held in Austin, Texas. The race provides a variety of course lengths to accommodate different participants, including options for running or walking. The festivities include holiday-inspired elements and refreshments provided at the finish line.
Participants have access to several distance options:
- Kids Dash: A 50-meter untimed run for children aged 10 and under.
- 1 Mile: An untimed distance including a shirt and medal.
- 5k: A 3.1 mile chip-timed race.
- 10k: A 6.2 mile chip-timed race.
- 15k: A 9.3 mile chip-timed race.
The event utilizes chip-timing for the 5k, 10k, and 15k distances, allowing for live results and awards. All registered participants in these distances receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. Free photos are provided during the event. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual race option is available, allowing participants to complete their chosen distance independently.
A unique registration option allows participants to volunteer for event setup before running their preferred distance at a reduced fee. Youth-based pricing is available for participants aged 12 and under in the 5k and 10k categories. To ensure a shirt is provided in the preferred size, registration must be completed by the specified deadline two Thursdays before the event.
