The Shipston IX - event overview
The Shipston IX is a nine mile road race taking place on 25 January 2026. The course runs on quiet rural roads adjacent to the market town of Shipston on Stour. The route is described as fairly flat. This edition replaces the earlier "Not the Roman IX" event.
Logistics, entries and prizes
Race headquarters are at Shipston on Stour Scout Hut (CV36 4EW), where race numbers will be collected. The start and finish are on Fell Mill Lane, a walk of about ten minutes from the race HQ. Parking is in the public car parks in and around Shipston on Stour, so competitors should allow time to walk from parking to race HQ. Organisers have applied for a three hour road closure of Fell Mill Lane to manage the start and finish without traffic. Homemade cakes and tea and coffee will be available for sale at the HQ after the race. Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and the first three ladies. The published entry fee is £25.00 plus a service fee. Entries close 23 January 2026. The event is organised by Stratford AC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
