Event details
The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on 11 July 2026. The advertised distance is 57 miles with a total ascent of 365 metres and total descent of 392 metres. Entry is by standard solo entry fee of £90. All payments and deposits are non-refundable. All entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day. The race is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup.
Route, support and rules
The route runs from Travelodge Worcester (WR1 2QS) to Travelodge Stonehouse (GL10 3SQ), passing Grimley, Worcester, Upton-on-Severn, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Epney, Priding and Frampton-on-Severn. The course is described as comparatively flat. Four checkpoint stations provide food and drink; entrants may select vegan or gluten-free options at registration or supply labelled personal food bags for checkpoints. Use of the event GPX files is strongly recommended because sections of the Severn Path can be overgrown and course signage may be obscured.
All finishers receive a bespoke Severn Way Ultra medal and an MTC head visor; the first male and female finishers receive trophies. Competitors must carry mandatory kit, including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, an emergency food pack (two chocolate bars) and a basic first-aid kit. Competitors are responsible for their own transport to the start and from the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
