The MTC Severn Way Ultra is a point-to-point ultramarathon held on 11 July 2026 over a distance of 57 miles. The route starts at Travelodge Worcester and finishes at Travelodge Stonehouse (GL10 3SQ), running along the River Severn through Grimley, Worcester, Upton-on-Severn, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, Epney, Priding and Frampton-on-Severn. Total ascent is 365 metres and total descent is 392 metres. The race is described as comparatively flat and has four checkpoint stations. All finishers receive a bespoke Severn Way Ultra medal and a MTC head visor. Standard solo entry is shown at £90.00.
Logistics and rules
The event is point-to-point; competitors must arrange their own travel to the start and from the finish. Checkpoint food can be selected as Vegan or Gluten Free at registration; competitors with other dietary needs must provide and label their own food for each checkpoint. Participants must carry mandatory kit, including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, Ordnance Survey Map 150 (downloadable maps accepted), compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, an emergency food pack (two chocolate bars) and a basic first aid kit. Entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day. Entry fees are non-refundable; a deferral option is available for £15 up to four weeks before the event. Competitors must maintain an average minimum pace of 4.0 mph or may be withdrawn at the organisers’ discretion. GPS/GPX navigation files are recommended.
