About the race
The Raven50 Ultra is an annual ultramarathon event held in Whitehorse, Yukon. Race activities are based at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Stadium, located adjacent to the Canada Games Centre. The course navigates the wilderness of the Canadian North and features over 3,000 meters of elevation gain. Runners encounter a mix of single-track trails, quad roads, and switchbacks, with terrain including ridges, peaks, and water crossings.
Participants can choose from a range of distances provided:
- 50 Mile Solo (~80 km): an ultra-endurance distance.
- 50 km Solo: a shorter ultramarathon distance.
- 50 Mile Relay: a two-person team event with an exchange near the midpoint.
- 50 km Relay: a team relay covering the 50 km distance.
- 10 km Run: open to youth and adults.
- 5 km Run: a community-oriented run for youth and adults.
- 2.5 km Run: open to all participants.
Safety and support services include a mandatory bear safety briefing held the day before the event and seven aid stations positioned along the course. Full facilities are available at the start and finish lines. The event includes specific engagement with Indigenous communities, offering complimentary entry to Indigenous runners.
