The Raven Trail Races
The Raven Trail Races are held in the Seven Mountains area of Bald Eagle State Forest, Pennsylvania, with courses routed through Poe Valley. The event offers technical singletrack, steep climbs, runnable doubletrack, stream crossings, overlooks, and long stretches of quiet forest. The race is themed after Edgar Allan Poe's poem The Raven, and course scenery is described as dark pines and rocky ascents.
There are two distances:
- 13.6 miles, +2.9K Elevation Gain
- ~6.4 miles, +1.5K Elevation Gain
The half marathon has three aid stations located near Dry Hollow (about mile 4.8), Penns View (about mile 6.8), and Mountain Church (about mile 10.5). The 10K uses the Mountain Church aid station at about mile 3. Aid stations are described as well stocked with hydration, fuel, and support; Tailwind Nutrition will provide endurance fuel on course at all aid stations.
The Raven is organized as a local non profit. Proceeds fund college scholarships for local high school runners. Both distances are part of the 2026 Rocksylvania Series. The event includes Raven themed finisher awards, a post race gathering, and a kettle served ham and bean soup after the race with a vegetarian option. Registration closes September 20, 2026.
