The Raven Trail Races
The Raven Trail Races take place in the Seven Mountains area of the Bald Eagle State Forest in Pennsylvania. The event features technical terrain inspired by the atmosphere of Poe Valley, characterized by dense forests, dark pines, and rocky ascents. Participants navigate a course that includes rugged singletrack, punchy climbs, runnable doubletrack, and cool stream crossings.
The event is part of the Rocksylvania Series and offers two distinct distances:
- 10K: Approximately 6.4 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain.
- Half Marathon: Approximately 13.6 miles with 2,900 feet of elevation gain.
The half marathon course includes three aid stations located at Dry Hollow, Penns View, and Tower Trail. These stations provide hydration and fuel, including Tailwind Endurance Fuel. The terrain is remote and steep, featuring scenic overlooks and stretches of quiet forest.
The race is open to runners and hikers who are prepared for technical mountain trails. After crossing the finish line, participants receive unique themed finisher awards. A post-race gathering follows the event, featuring a meal of kettle-served ham and bean soup, with vegetarian-friendly options available for attendees.
