The Raven Trail Races
The Raven Trail Races take place in the Seven Mountains area of Bald Eagle State Forest near Poe Valley. The event offers technical mountain trail running through dense Pennsylvania forest with steep climbs, winding singletrack, runnable doubletrack, stream crossings, rocky ascents, and scenic overlooks. The event is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s work and presents a strong trail-running environment that suits trained trail runners and hikers who respect the terrain; it is not an easy or flat course.
Both distances are part of the 2026 Rocksylvania Series. The race is organized as a local nonprofit grassroots event and uses proceeds to fund college scholarships for area high school runners.
Distances:
- 10K : ~6.4 miles, +1.5K elevation gain
- Half Marathon : ~13.6 miles, +2.9K elevation gain
Aid stations are available on course. The half marathon has three aid stations near miles 4.8, 6.8, and 10.5; the 10K has one aid station near mile 3. Aid stations offer hydration, fuel, and support, with Tailwind endurance fuel provided at all stations. Post-race provisions include kettle-served ham and bean soup with a vegetarian option, plus Raven-themed finisher awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
