The Original A2 Turkey Trot

The Original A2 Turkey Trot takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan. It is an annual autumn running event.

Distances

A 5K loop around scenic Hudson Mills Metropark.
A 10K course comprised of two 5K loops.
A 1-mile fun run called the Mashed Potato Mile.
The Iron Turkey option consists of running both the 5K and 10K events for a total of 9.3 miles.

The event also includes specific free races for children. There is a 200-meter Drumstick Dash for children aged 8 and under, a free 1-mile race for children aged 10 and under, and a free 5K race for children aged 10 and under. Virtual options for the 5K, 10K, Iron Turkey, and 1-mile fun run are available. There is also a Pacer team for the 5K, 10K, and Iron Turkey events, available by invitation only.

The event is walker-friendly. Age group awards are given, and overall winners receive turkey awards. There is a post-race celebration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
