Event Overview

The Opening Act 5K Run/Walk is an event that kicks off Carmel PorchFest. The race is located at 365 Monon Blvd in Carmel, Indiana. Participants can choose from a timed in-person 5K or a virtual 5K option.

The Course and Event Details

The 5K course starts and finishes on Monon Blvd at MidTown. It goes north on the Monon Trail, west towards Meadowlark Park, south to City Center Drive, and back north to the finish line. The event includes age group awards, finisher medals, and an official event shirt.

Post-Race and Community Integration

After the race, participants can socialize and walk three blocks to the start of PorchFest. MidTown is in the DORA district, and a special cup is provided for those who wish to walk around with an adult beverage. Post-race refreshments, music, and specials from MidTown restaurants are available. A jazz band will march participants north on the Monon to the start of PorchFest after the event.

Beneficiary
