The Nick Teddy 5k Presented By Tug Fest-Illinois
The community running event is scheduled for August 15, 2026, in Port Byron, Illinois. The start and finish are located on the south end of Main Street near Happy Pawz Playground, 414 S Main St. The event is presented in association with Tug Fest-IL.
The races are held in memory of a local resident who fought pediatric bone cancer, Ewing’s sarcoma. Proceeds benefit the Nick Teddy Foundation for research specific to Ewing’s sarcoma and to assist QCA Ewing’s sarcoma survivors and their families; organizers currently support or follow 15 local families.
Event offerings include:
- 5K run/walk
- 100-yard Teddy Trot for children
- Virtual 5K Ghost Runner option with bib and t-shirt
Prizes will be awarded to the overall men’s and women’s finishers in the 5K. The 5K age-group categories are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Adult in-person entries include two drink vouchers for use during Tug Fest-IL. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35.00 for the 5K, $20.00 for the Teddy Trot, and $20.00 for the virtual Ghost Runner option.
