The Nick Teddy 5k Presented By Tug Fest-Illinois
This community running event takes place in Port Byron on 15 August 2026 with the start/finish at the south end of Main Street near Happy Pawz Playground, 414 S Main St. The event program includes a signature 5K run/walk, a short children’s Teddy Trot, and a virtual Ghost Runner 5K option that provides a bib and t-shirt for participants who cannot attend in person.

- 5K run/walk
- 100 yards Teddy Trot kids run
- 5K virtual Ghost Runner option with bib and t-shirt
Entry fees and registration windows are published for each option. Prizes are awarded to the overall men’s and women’s finishers in the 5K. The 5K has the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
After the races, the event is part of the Tug Fest-IL activities. Adult entries include two free drink vouchers. Proceeds from the event support research specific to Ewing’s sarcoma and provide assistance for local survivors and their families; the organizer currently supports 15 local families.
