The Memorial Day Freedom 5K Run/Walk
The Memorial Day Freedom 5K Run/Walk takes place in Malverne, New York, at Connolly Station, 280 Hempstead Ave. The event follows the Village of Malverne Memorial Day parade route as a tribute to veterans and was previously known as Freedom on the Farm. It includes a main 5K and a shorter fun run.

Parking is available in the lot behind Fitness 19. The course is a two-loop layout described as fast and flat. Bib pickup is located at the gazebo on Church Street at Reese Veterans Memorial Park, adjacent to the Malverne train station; participants who register three weeks in advance receive a personalized bib.
Amenities include drawstring bags for the first 200 registered, medals for the first 200 finishers, free finish line photos, refreshments such as protein balls, brownies, bananas and water, bathrooms at Connolly Station, and complimentary seed packets for the first 150 registered. The award bag contains organic honey from CrossRoads Farm plus cash awards. Awards are given to top overall male and female, top Malverne resident male and female, top veteran or first responder male and female, and age-group winners across standard age divisions.
Proceeds benefit local organizations including American Legion Post 44, the Sgt. Winters scholarship, Paws of War, the Detective Steven McDonald Foundation, the Malverne Fire Department, and CrossRoads Farm. The event has partnered with the Never Stop Running Foundation 501c(3) to make sponsorships and donations tax deductible. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
