The Memorial Day Freedom 5K Run/Walk
The Memorial Day Freedom 5K Run/Walk is held in Malverne, New York, at Connolly Station, 280 Hempstead Ave. The event takes place on Memorial Day and follows the route of the Village of Malverne Memorial Day Parade. It was previously known as Freedom on the Farm and is presented as a tribute to veterans.

The course uses two loops and is described as fast and flat. Parking is available in the lot behind Fitness 19 fitness club. Bib pickup is located at the gazebo on Church Street at Reese Veterans Memorial Park, adjacent to the Malverne Train Station.
The event supports multiple local and national beneficiaries. Funds raised have been allocated to American Legion Post 44 for a service dog, the Malverne Fire Department, a scholarship in memory of Sgt. Winters of the Malverne Police Department, Paws of War, the Detective Steven McDonald Foundation, and Crossroads Farm. The organizers partnered with the Never Stop Running Foundation 501c(3) to make sponsorships and donations tax deductible.
Amenities include a drawstring bag for the first 200 registered, medals for the first 200 finishers, personalized bibs for registrations made three weeks in advance, free finish-line photos, refreshments, available bathrooms at Connolly Station, seed packets for early registrants, and crumb cake from Malverne Bakery.
Awards include honey from CrossRoads Farm and cash in award bags, with top overall, resident, veteran or first responder, and age-group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
