The Maypole Project Chislehurst Half Marathon & 10k
The Maypole Project Chislehurst Half Marathon & 10k is a community running event held in Chislehurst, Greater London, with race headquarters at Glebe Football Club, Foxbury Avenue, BR7 6SD. The 2027 edition marks the event's tenth anniversary and its profits support The Maypole Project.
The event offers two distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
Both distances use newly crafted routes for 2027. The courses explore the green spaces, parks and commons around Chislehurst and are described as multi-terrain and undulating. The new layouts are lapped in nature, intended to make navigation easier than in previous editions. Detailed route maps, including GPX files, are made available to entrants.
The Maypole Project is the beneficiary and organiser. The charity provides psychological and family-centred emotional support for families with a child or young person (0 to 18 years) who has a complex illness or disability, including support from diagnosis and through antenatal periods. The charity supports over 1,000 families across Kent and South London and offers tailored help at home, school, hospice or hospital.
Entry options include a HEROES ticket that adds a £5 donation to The Maypole Project; this donation is described as funding arts and crafts used in play therapy sessions. Every finisher receives a bespoke anniversary medal, and trophies and prizes are awarded to leading runners.
