The Lumberyard Beer Mile
The Lumberyard Beer Mile is an annual event held in Clinton, South Carolina. The course follows a 1/4 mile loop that begins and ends at The Lumberyard. Participants must be at least 21 years old to enter. The event features two main participation formats:
- The Solo Challenge
- Beer Team Relay
In the Solo Challenge, participants complete a full mile by running four loops of the course. Before starting each loop, the runner must consume one beer, totaling four beers and four loops.
The Beer Team Relay is designed for teams of four runners. The rules for the relay require each team member to drink a beer, run one 1/4 mile loop, and then drink a second beer before the next teammate can begin their segment. Consequently, each relay participant drinks two beers and runs one loop of the course.
Participants who register by April 5th are guaranteed an event t-shirt. The event location is at 115 Gary St. in Clinton. Because the event involves alcohol consumption, attendees are encouraged to arrange for a designated driver or a safe ride home. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
