The Limberlost Challenge 2026
The Limberlost Challenge takes place at the Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve in Huntsville, Ontario. This private reserve features a variety of terrain, taking runners alongside lakes, through wetlands with beaver dams, and over steep inclines. Participants will encounter technical sections requiring agile footwork as well as trails that allow for faster speeds. The course may include crossings of creeks or mud holes.
There are several distances available, primarily focusing on a 14 km loop structure:
- 1 km (Free Kid’s Fun Run)
- 7 km
- 14 km (organized in three waves)
- 28 km (two 14 km loops)
- 42 km (three 14 km loops)
- 56 km (four 14 km loops)
This is a cupless event, and participants are required to bring their own hydration containers. Runners registered for the 7 km through 56 km distances receive morning coffee, lunch, socks, and a handcrafted participant medal. For the 56 km race, participants must complete three loops by a specific time to be permitted to start their final lap.
Registration and race kit pickup are available on the Friday evening before the event and on the morning of the race. The event supports local charity partners including Trails Youth Initiatives and the Muskoka Conservancy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
