The Last Hour : event description
The Last Hour is the final race in the Friday Night Happy Hour Series. It is an 8 km trail fun run on gently rolling terrain at Vanderwater Conservation Area in Thomasburg, Ontario.
The course passes through pine groves, old boulder fields and along the Moira River. Trails are generously wide, allowing runners to go side by side. Organizers describe the Happy Hour races as welcoming, informal and focused on building community.
Practical details: Vanderwater has a paid parking gate; parking is CA$6 and the gate accepts cash, debit and credit. There are no aid stations on course. A porta-potty is available in the main parking lot.
Bibs can be picked up one hour before the start. Day of registration is available one hour before the start at the posted day-of rate, listed as CA$30. Base registration pricing for the event is shown as CA$29.47 where applicable.
Timing and awards: timing is done manually and results are posted to Facebook within 24 hours. There are no placement awards. No refunds are offered.
Series finishers who complete all three Happy Hour races receive a custom Dirty Soles medal and a prize at The Last Hour. Dirty Soles merchandise will be available for sale. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
