Kirk-Wood Half Marathon
The Kirk-Wood Half Marathon is a point to point road race held on Saturday, August 22nd. The 13.1 mile course starts at Northwest University in Kirkland and finishes at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. The route follows regional pedestrian and multiuse trails, including the Kirkland Cross Corridor Trail, Eastrail, and the Sammamish River Trail.
The course has a net downhill of over 300 feet and is designed to allow a steady running rhythm over most of the distance. Organizers set a course cutoff time of 3 hour 30 minutes, equivalent to a 16 minute per mile pace. Runners are released in waves of up to 250 participants, and shuttles from the finish back to the start are provided. Race registration includes a race shirt, a finisher medal, and chip timing.
