The Ivy Trek Ultra
The Ivy Trek Ultra is a trail running event at Clarkco State Park near Quitman, Mississippi. It is held on a 7.78 mile loop that runners complete multiple times to cover the chosen distance. Distances offered include:
- 50K Four laps of the 7.78 mile loop
- 25K Two laps of the 7.78 mile loop
- 12.5K One lap of the 7.78 mile loop
The course mixes mostly double track with some single track, includes several bridges, a landmark called Gold Fish Pond, and recurring views of Ivy Lake. Trails are described as wide and easy to navigate while featuring deceptively hilly terrain. The start, split, and finish area is located at Pavilion 2 with nearby parking and large grassy areas suitable for pop up tents.
Aid is provided with one aid station located on the loop and the start/finish area serving as an additional aid point. Participants must bring a personal water container; coolers are supplied for refills. Littering may result in disqualification.
Camping options at the park include cabins, pads for RVs and primitive sites; overnight camping and cabin or pad fees are separate from race entry. Packet pickup is organized at Pavilion 2 on the day before the race and on race morning. RFID chip timing with split times is used. All finishers receive a custom medal and a race shirt; the first 100 registrants are guaranteed a custom patch. Awards are given by gender and by masters age categories. The event enforces a 10 hour course time limit and does not offer refunds or deferrals except military deferrals with orders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
