The Ivy Trek Ultra
The Ivy Trek Ultra is a trail event held at Clarkco State Park near Quitman, MS. The event offers the following distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 12.5K
The course is built from a 7.78 mile loop that runners complete multiple times: the 50K is four loops, the 25K is two loops and the 12.5K is one loop. Trails are mostly double track with some single track sections, several bridges, the Gold Fish Pond, and recurring views of Ivy Lake. The terrain is described as deceptively hilly. All runners must follow the full marked route; cutting the course can result in disqualification.
There is one aid station on the loop and the Start/Finish area also serves as an aid location. Participants are required to carry a water container; coolers are provided for refills. Using a vehicle as a pit area or setting a tent at the Start/Finish area is common. Littering may result in disqualification.
Park gate fees are included with entry, but overnight camping, cabins and pad fees are separate and require reservation. Packet pickup is available at Pavilion 2 the day before and can also be handled on race morning near the start area. RFID chip timing with split times is provided and a results kiosk will offer printouts. Each participant receives a race shirt and each finisher receives a medal; the first 100 registrations are guaranteed a patch. Refunds and deferrals are not offered except for military deferrals with orders. Awards for each distance include top three male and female overall and age category prizes for 40-plus, 50-plus and 60-plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
