The Hoot Half Marathon & 10K Trail Race
The Hoot is a trail running event held on the Rocks and Roots Trail at Alum Creek State Park near Lewis Center, Ohio. The start area is located just off Hollenback Road, south of the dog park at 3993 Hollenback Rd.

- 13.1 Miles - Half Marathon on the trail
- 6.2 Miles - 10K trail race
The course runs the north loop first in a clockwise direction for the initial 10K, then the south loop counter-clockwise for the second 10K. An additional roughly 0.7 mile loop completes the half marathon. The course layout is subject to change.
Registration uses tiered fees that increase closer to the event date: through May 31 $45, June 1 to June 30 $50, July 1 to July 31 $55, August 1 to August 31 $60, and September 1 through race day $70. Races have historically sold out two to six weeks before race day. The event has a no refund and no bib transfer policy.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sports in Lewis Center on the Friday and Saturday before the event during normal business hours. Race day packet pickup will be available at the race site. The course closes for all participants at 12:00pm and half marathon runners must begin their second lap before 9:45am. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
