The Hill Raisin' Half & Fun Run
The Hill Raisin' Half & Fun Run takes place in Little Sioux, Iowa on May 16, 2026. The event offers two course options:
- Half Marathon
- 5.3 mi Fun Run
The courses run through western Iowa's Loess Hills, crossing remnant prairie, hardwood forest, deep ravines, exposed ridges, and narrow goat trails. Routes use Brent's Trail of Loess Hills State Forest and Gleason Hubel Wildlife Area. The half marathon includes a level B dirt road called Fulton Avenue.
Entry fees are listed as $60 for the half marathon and $35 for the 5.3 mile fun run. To receive a T shirt, registration must be completed by April 22, 2026. General registration closes May 13, 2026 at 11:59 PM CT. No refunds are allowed after March 17, 2026 (60 days prior to the race); this policy applies even if the race is cancelled for inclement weather. No bib transfers are allowed.
Proceeds are directed to Friends of Loess Hills State Forest to support natural resources management and recreational opportunities at Loess Hills State Forest.
