MGM Runway 5K
The MGM Runway 5K takes place on April 25, 2026 at Montgomery Regional Airport in Montgomery, Alabama. The event is held on a closed course set on airport grounds, using portions of the airfield and roughly four miles of runway infrastructure. Racers use Taxiway Bravo, Delta and Echo and a section identified as Runway 3-21 south, running beside active airport operations and adjacent runways. The course offers close views of aircraft landing and taking off and views of the MGM terminal.
The event program includes a 5K Run/Walk and a 5K Spectator option. Participation requires registration as a runner. Children age 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult; children age 5 and under are free with a registered adult. Field size is limited to the first 500 participants. Participants are required to use a provided shuttle to access the racecourse.
Awards are planned for the fastest overall male and female finishers. Age group awards will be presented across multiple divisions, including 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24 and successive five year bands up to 75 and older. Overall awards are based on gun time and age group awards are based on chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
