Event overview
The GIANT 5K Memorial Day Run/Walk is a non-timed 5K moto-run/walk held at Ben Davis High School campus in Indianapolis, IN (1200 N Girls School Rd, 46214) on May 25, 2026. The event is organized by the Ben Davis High School Marine Corps JROTC cadets. A moto-run is a military-style formation run in which cadets call cadences; participants may run with the formation, join and leave the formation, or complete the course at their own pace. The course follows hard surfaces on the school campus and includes grass terrain along parts of the route.
Logistics and purpose
Entry fee is listed as $20. Registration opens February 28, 2026. All paid participants who ordered a t-shirt will receive it at check-in; additional shirts are available for purchase while supplies last. Cadets will staff water stations along the route. Medics and local military recruiters from all service branches will be on site to provide information. The event serves as a fundraiser for Ben Davis MCJROTC, supporting its Drill, Rifle, and Raider teams and their efforts to compete at the national level.
