First Tri Lydney Sprint and Olympic 2026
The First Tri Lydney is a pool-based multisport event held at the Lydney Leisure Centre, also known as Freedom Leisure, located in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The event takes place over a weekend in April and offers options for individual participants as well as relay teams.
The competition features two main distances:
- Sprint: 400m pool swim, 20km or 23km bike, and 5km run.
- Olympic: 750m pool swim, 38km or 42km bike, and 10k run.
The swimming portion of the event is conducted in a 25m heated indoor pool. Following the swim, participants move to a secure transition area. The cycling stage consists of a road route characterized by left-turns only. The final stage is a run held on a scenic route. All participants who complete the course receive a finishers medal.
The event facilities include free on-site parking at the leisure center. Registration takes place on the morning of the event, and participants must register before racking their bicycles in the transition area. A race briefing is provided at the poolside prior to the start of the swim waves. Prize categories are available for both male and female competitors.
