About the race
The First Tri Lydney is an indoor pool based Sprint and Olympic distance triathlon held in Lydney, Gloucestershire on April 25 - 26, 2027. The event takes place at Freedom Leisure Centre on Church Road in the Forest of Dean.
The event uses a 25 m heated pool and a secure transition area. The bike course is run with left turns only and the run route is described as scenic. Finishers receive a medal. The event offers both individual and relay entry options.
Distances:
- Sprint: 400 m pool swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Olympic: 750 m pool swim, 38 km bike, 10 km run
Registration and race procedures include on-site registration before racking a bike and a requirement to register at least 30 minutes before the swim time. A poolside race briefing is provided when competitors receive their race chip, and competitors should be on poolside 10 minutes before their swim. Swim start times are allocated in waves and will be sent by email and posted on the event website about one week before the event.
