The Firefly Overnight Endurance Challenge & 10k Trail Race
This event is an overnight, supported trail race held at the Rocks and Roots Trailhead and the Alum Creek State Park group campsite in Lewis Center, Ohio. The main endurance format is a timed 12 hour overnight challenge scored by completed laps on a single track loop. Headlamps or flashlights are mandatory; reflective gear, glow sticks, and body paint are encouraged for visibility. The course is marked but participants are responsible for staying on the trail.
Race options include evening and morning 10 kilometer races, a combined double result for running both 10Ks, and a free kids 1 mile trail race. Pacers are permitted after the first 10K and crew tents are allowed in a designated zone at the lap point. Minors aged 14 to 18 may run the overnight challenge only if an adult is on site for the event; children under 14 are not permitted.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Sports in Lewis Center in the days before the event and at the race site on race day. Optional camping is available at the group camp for a fee; tent sites are approximately 15 ft by 15 ft and are limited. The event provides an event shirt, buff, pint glass, and a pancake breakfast. Entry fees vary by registration period and registrations are non refundable and non transferable. Course layout and event details are subject to change.
