The Donut Dash 5K

The Donut Dash 5K is an annual running event taking place in Buchanan, Georgia. The race is hosted by the Haralson County Sheriff's Foundation and serves as a fundraiser for various youth programs, including the C.H.A.M.P.S Program, the Car Seat Program, and the local Cadets. The event is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2026.

The course covers a 5 km distance that meanders through downtown Buchanan. The start and finish lines are located adjacent to the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library at 145 Van Wert St. The route follows a scenic path through the small town, and participants can find parking in the areas surrounding the race route in downtown Buchanan.

Registration for the event is open in advance, with a higher fee applied for those registering on the day of the race. Participants who register by July 26 are guaranteed a T-shirt in their preferred size. For those pre-registered, packet pick-up is available the day before the event at the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office in Bremen, Georgia.

Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top masters winners. Age category awards are also provided for three male and female finishers in groups ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over. Following the completion of the race and the awards presentation, free donuts are provided for participants. The event takes place regardless of rain or shine.
