The Culmullen Run 2026

The Culmullen Run is an annual athletic event located in County Meath, with the start and finish area based at Culmullen National School. The race route takes participants through the Meath countryside, utilizing quiet country roads. The course is characterized by a variety of terrain, including long downhill sections, short uphill segments, and tree-shaded, grass-centered lanes.

The event features two distinct distances:

  • 5 miles: A chip-timed race for runners and walkers on scenic roads.
  • 1 km: A junior race open to children over 8 years old who are attending primary school.

The 5 mile race is professionaly chip-timed. Registration is available online in advance or on the day of the event at the school. For the 1 km junior race, participants must register and sign a waiver at the school. This shorter race takes place on the road near the school grounds.

Participants of the main race receive medals, and the first 200 online registrants are provided with t-shirts. Following the completion of the races, home-made refreshments and tea are served at the school. All profits generated from the event are donated to Culmullen National School.
