About the race
The Cogmans Trail Run is a multi-distance trail race held around Montagu, Western Cape, using the Montagu Trails Network and surrounding peaks. The event weekend is dated 16 to 18 July 2027 and includes routes that summit Aasvoëlkrans Peak, Cogmans Peak, and Bloupunt Peak.
Routes and key facts:
- 10 km with about 446 m climbing and one aid station.
- 17 km with about 1000 m climbing and two aid stations.
- 34 km with about 2005 m climbing and two aid stations.
- 50 km with about 2600 m climbing and three aid stations.
- 100 km with about 4600 m climbing and seven aid stations.
Each distance is described with terrain notes: a mix of tar and single track, long climbs, fast descents, technical sections, valley and ridge scenery, and nature garden and single-track loops. Crew support rules vary by distance: most shorter routes do not allow crew support, while the 100 km allows crew at specified aid stations and includes one drop bag at about 51 km. Cut-off times and aid station cut-offs apply per route. Entry fees and precise pricing are provided via the event entry portal.
