About the race
The Chiggy Ultra takes place at Cape Chignecto Provincial Park in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia. The park is described as scenic and features steep vertical gain and mostly single track technical trails. The event is stated to provide 2200 m of vertical gain per loop.
The event offers several course options and entry fees:
- The Rockhammer : ~9 km; CA$29.26
- One Loop : ~51 km; CA$137.23
- Two Loops : ~102 km; CA$191.21
- Three Loops : ~153 km; CA$245.20
The one loop course includes McGahey Canyon trail, is mostly single track technical trail, passes three aid stations, and often has muddy sections. Two loops means repeating the loop distance and spending additional time on the same trails. The three loop entry includes a finishing buckle and the organizers note they can add a small section to reach an official 100 mile distance if desired.
Organizers state there are no refunds or deferrals. Transfers of bibs are allowed and can be completed until September 26, 2025. An optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection is available and covers items such as injury and illness, COVID-19, severe weather, layoffs or terminations, and mechanical breakdowns.
All aid stations will be closed by Sunday afternoon and runners remaining on course after that will be managed on a case by case basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
