The Chiggy Ultra - 2026
The Chiggy Ultra is a trail running event held at Cape Chignecto Provincial Park in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. The park is described by the organizer as having single-track technical trails, significant mud, and notable vertical gain. The organizer states each loop provides about 2200 m of vertical gain and positions this as the highest vertical gain of any event in the Maritimes.
Course options listed by the organizer include:
- The Rockhammer: about 9 km, short hilly trail
- One Loop: about 51 km, includes McGahey Canyon and three aid stations
- Two Loops: about 102 km, two repetitions of the main loop
- Three Loops: about 153 km, completion awards a finishing buckle
Aid stations are present on course and will be closed on Sunday afternoon. The organizer’s registration policy states no refunds or deferrals; bib transfers are allowed until September 26, 2025. The organizer also notes an optional Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection product that covers injury, illness, COVID-19, severe weather, layoffs, and mechanical breakdowns.
