The Cederberg Stage Run
The Aonijie Cederberg Stage Run is a three day trail running event held in the Cederberg and hosted at Kromrivier Cederberg Park from 2nd to 5th September 2027. The event uses remote jeep tracks, contour trails, ridgelines and singletrack through rock formations and river valleys in the Cederberg wilderness.
The race is organised as three stages:
- Day 1: 32.3 km with 1,230 m of elevation, starting on jeep tracks, climbing to ridgelines and Luna Peak, then descending via the Krom River back to Disa Pool.
- Day 2: a shorter distance but significant climbing with ascents to Winterbach Peak, Die Sleus and Suikerberg and a long descent via the Krom River.
- Day 3: a short, faster stage that climbs Kromrivier Pass, passes Stadsaal Caves and finishes after a run over a suspension bridge.
Accommodation is available at Kromrivier Cederberg Park on a first come first served basis and is not included in the entry fee. Entry categories and fees were published for early access, early bird and normal periods, with entries closing 15 August 2027. The event lists sponsors supplying gear, water and support and partners focused on conservation and environmental initiatives in the Cederberg.
