The Arc Grand Prix Run and Walk
The Arc Grand Prix Run and Walk is a charity event for The Arc Chemung-Schuyler. It takes place on the grounds of the Watkins Glen International motor racing track in Watkins Glen, New York, located in the Finger Lakes region. The 2026 edition will be the 13th year of the event.
The event features multiple courses on the racetrack:
- A 3.4-mile course (described as 5k-ish) that covers one full lap of the track, including the section known as "the boot."
- A 6.8-mile course (described as 10k-ish) consisting of two laps of the 3.4-mile course. This distance is for participants aged 13 and over.
- A 1-mile "Pit Road Walk" course that offers a view of Victory Lane and loops back via Pit Road. This course is not timed.
Registration is divided into adult (13+) and youth (5-12) categories for the different distances. All participants receive a long-sleeved performance crew t-shirt, and all youth participants receive a finisher ribbon.
Awards are given for the timed 3.4-mile and 6.8-mile courses. Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in various age groups, as well as to the overall male and female winners for each distance. Awards are available for pickup immediately after the race; there is no formal ceremony.
The event includes packet pickup opportunities in the days leading up to race day, both at a local mall and at the track on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
